The Use Reusables campaign is a joint project of Alameda County (CA) public agency StopWaste and the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA).
Launched in 2007, the campaign's goal to help businesses and institutions assess and optimize the transport packaging materials and systems they use, either within their manufacturing process or for product distribution. While not every organization is a good candidate for reusable transport packaging, a successful transition to Reusables typically results in reduced costs and improvements in the areas of operational efficiency, worker safety, product protection and environmental performance, in particular a reduction in waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
The Use Reusables campaign offers one-on-one expert advice, educational resources including webinars and publications, and a comprehensive website. The campaign has worked with hundreds of organizations and has helped many transition to reusable transport packaging, saving millions of dollars in packaging expenses and disposal costs, as well as preventing thousands of tons of waste.
